Sony’s Playstation 3 is the most powerful of the three main next generation consoles. However, its value increases substantially whenever people use this console as a home entertainment system. Included with the Playstation 3 console are the ability to browse the internet, play music, and watch Blu-ray discs. In fact, users can save $100 simply by purchasing the Playstation 3 20gb version instead of the 60gb version, making the 20gb version perfect for those that don’t want to store a lot of media on their Playstation 3 (and 20gb can still store a nice amount of media).

Best Bargain, Period

Blu-ray discs support full 1080p resolution, the best standard in the world today. However, most stand alone players cost in excess of $1000. With the Playstation 3 20gb, users can get the full functionality of standalone Blu-ray players at less than half the cost! Not only that, but this console can also play DVD movies and CD audio among other media formats, making it the cornerstone of any home entertainment system.

Beyond the Blu-ray capabilities, the Playstation 3 20gb can browse the Internet, allowing users to have up to six open browsers at any given time so they can view multiple sites at once. Check e-mail, download pictures, and more with the browser. As connectivity goes, the Playstation 3 20gb offers users multiple ways to get connected to the Internet. The wireless standards 802.11b and 802.11g are supported, and even without a wireless router, users can connect the Playstation 3 to the Internet via an Ethernet cable.

However, Sony has bundled more awesome features than the ones just featured above. The Playstation 3 20gb has backwards compatibility with previous Playstation and Playstation 2 games, giving the Playstation 3 a game library of thousands of games choose from. Favorites like Final Fantasy VII and Metal Gear Solid 2 can be played without having to use old equipment. Although designed to play Playstation 3 games, the Cell processor is so powerful it can easily compute games coded for different hardware. Future firmware updates will also increase backwards compatibility.

Sony’s newest offering to the next generation consoles offers a bundle of entertainment for an absolute bargain. Blu-ray is expected to become the next-gen movie format, replacing DVDs in just a few years. For the best gaming experience, users also get the benefits of a CD, DVD, and Blu-ray player and an Internet browser, making the Playstation 3 20gb the best value on the consumer electronics market.

Posted in Games with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 11, 2007 by wendyesamo

Gamers face many questions when making a purchase of a new gaming system. What games are good? What else should be bought to give the best gaming experience? For several generations of game consoles, manufacturers have bundled video game consoles, games, and occasionally other equipment in one package. With Sony’s newest console, Playstation 3 bundles allow gamers to get a starter package of awesome games right out of the box.

The Real Bargain

Even without Playstation 3 bundles, the Playstation 3 video game console is already a bargain when considered by itself. It’s a video game console, CD, DVD, and Blu-ray player, Internet browser, and media storage box all in one. These various consumer electronics would cost people thousands of dollars to purchase separately. However, for a fraction of that price, users can get all of those components of a home theater system together in one, sleek box.

However, the bargain becomes much more enticing when other games and products are shipped with the PS3 in Playstation 3 bundles. Not only do buyers get all of the above, but they also receive a bunch of popular and fun games. Different bundles appeal to different people of course, and there is a bundle out there for everyone!

Playstation 3 bundles exist to give gamers a taste of a variety of genres. Some allow gamers to experience driving, platform, and sports games, while some “premium” Playstation 3 bundles include a dozen or more games to cover all the genres. Also, these games are bundled at a discount beyond what the games are already priced at, making the savings that much more.

Parents and loved ones might have an extremely difficult time deciding what gifts to give their relatives and friends during the holidays or for birthdays. With Playstation 3 bundles, everyone can receive something that they’d really enjoy. Dad can play a football simulation, Mom can try out a racing title, and their son Jack can immerse himself in World War II with Call of Duty 3. These bundles are especially perfect gifts for families, leaving the guessing out of choosing gifts for others.

And when night comes, the family can get together to watch Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest on a Blu-ray disc (or hundreds of other Blu-ray titles) in full 1080p resolution with Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound, a perfect ending to a perfect day. These bundles allow everyone to have a great time playing games. Give your friends and relatives something that they’ll cherish for years with Playstation 3 bundles.
